The legend of the hummingbird

It exists one Amerindian legend of the hummingbird, the flowers’ friend...

The legend says « Once uppon a time in a forest, a huge fire occured. All animals were scared and appaled staring at the disaster. The little hummingbird only remained active and took some water in his beak to throw it in the fire. After some time, the armadillo, bored by these useless efforts told him: « Hummingbird! Are you crazy? Do you think you will stop the fire with these few water drops? The hummingbird answered I know that but I do my share of the work ».

The vineyard

Since 5 generations, the family Caillé produces quality Muscadet. Numerous factors enable to produce Great Muscadet, as for example: a selection of 3 grounds, the work of the soil, total ploughing or natural weed, the control of the productivity, traditional wine making and long farming on dregs.

In 1986 Vincent Caillé took over the family’s wineyard. He decided to be part of the winemaker generation which is well decided to lead a policy of quality without concession. He produces with passion some Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, wines that express lots of feelings. After a long work and a constant quality, Vincent Caillé converts nowadays his vineyard Le Fay D’homme to organic farming.
